After our fiasco of driving around Dublin totally and completely lost, while our friends went here, there and everywhere without once getting lost using their GPS unit, we’ve decided to take the plunge. I’m thinking that Black Friday sales will bring me the best deal. But not knowing much about one brand vs another brand, I’m asking for advice.
So what brand and model do you have? What do you like about it? What don’t you like about it? Do you use a Mac?
We’re leaning towards either a TomTom (though it seems it’s not 100% Mac-compatible and no word when or if it will be remedied any time soon) or a Garmin Nuvi (which we know is Mac-compatible since it’s what our friends that we hung out with in Dublin used).
Any input is greatly appreciated.
we have a “garmi” and LURVE her. she’s taken us from sea to shining sea (nj to ca…and everywhere in between). my mom has one…my uncle…and my sister. no complaints here.

I got the Magellan Maestro 3250 as it had everything I wanted (bluetooth capabilities, saying the street names, traffic diverting capability). I did tons of research but mainly relied on CNET and its GPS reviews.
Good luck!

Thanks Reese & CWG! It’s so hard, even with all the research. Each line of product has their strengths and weaknesses. Thanks for the input. Let the research continue!!
i have a Mio and i love it. although i did get lost using it once, but it was my own fault for not listening, haha.
